What is the current version for an NVD

The current version for an NVD (National Vendor Declaration) is C0720. You can also create an E-NVD (Electronic NVD) through your LPA login if you have run out in your book or opt for a paperless version.

Can I send cattle to auction un-branded?

Accepted Answer

Cattle must be branded when they are offered for sale in Queensland.
Exemptions exist for any of the following:
 • registered stud cattle sold at approved stud cattle sales
 • calves under 100kg live weight
 • cattle from another state or territory, if they are either:
 • taken directly to an abattoir
 • or
 • have  been purchased over the scales at the feedlot in Queensland and are  kept at a registered cattle feedlot in Queensland until they are  slaughtered.

Question 4

I have an animal who has lost its NLIS tag. What do I do?

Accepted Answer

You should apply a post-breeder tag. These are orange for cattle. The animal will no longer have lifetime traceability. However, if you know the number of the tag that was lost, it can be linked to the replacement ‘post-breeder’ tag in the NLIS database. Linking the lost tag and the replacement tag will retain the animal’s lifetime traceability.
